A beautiful green
for future generations.
Our founder was raised among the tea fields of Kikugawa in Shizuoka, where endless green landscapes offered a sense of calm and belonging.
Today, however, these familiar scenes are shifting. Due to climate change, it is
becoming harder each year to grow green tea.
Our teas are cultivated by farmers who have practiced organic farming for decades.
Their deep respect for the land and nature lives on in every leaf we share.
At ochamode, the ability to pass this beautiful tradition to the next generation
is our core value, and it guides everything we do.

1% for the Planet
We are proud members of 1% for the Planet, donating a portion of our annual
revenue to organizations dedicated to protecting the earth. These include
efforts in climate action, forest preservation, and water conservation.
As a brand sustained by nature, we believe giving back is not an option — it’s a
responsibility. By choosing ochamode, you support more than tea; you support a
vision of a healthier planet for future generations.
One small cup can be a quiet but powerful act of care for the world around us.

Direct Relationships with Organic Farmers
Our teas are cultivated by trusted organic farmers in our founder’s hometown of
Shizuoka.
We maintain direct and transparent partnerships with these farmers, ensuring not only the highest quality tea but also fair support for their work and
communities.
By knowing exactly who grows our tea, and how they do it, we uphold traceability
and integrity.
We believe that trust in our products starts with trust in the people who grow them — with care, commitment, and pride.
Pioneers of Organic Green Tea Farming
Many of our partner farmers are true pioneers, having practiced organic farming for decades before it became widely recognized.
They cultivate tea without pesticides or synthetic fertilizers, relying on nature’s
cycles and regenerative soil practices.
Their hands-on knowledge, care, and attention to each plant bring out the tea’s
natural richness.
Some preserve traditional farming wisdom; others experiment with new cultivars.
What unites them is a deep-rooted respect for the land and the belief that mindful
farming leads to a better, cleaner future.
Preserving the Chagusaba Tradition
Some of our farmers carry on the Chagusaba
method, an age-old tea-grass farming system recognized by the FAO as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System.
This method involves growing native grasses near tea fields, cutting and drying them, then layering them back into the soil.
It’s a practice that enhances soil health, moderates moisture and temperature, and supports biodiversity by creating habitats for countless species.
Chagusaba is more than a technique — it’s a
philosophy of coexistence, passing down the wisdom of working in harmony with nature and tradition.
