What Is Okumidori?
While Yabukita is Japan's most widely cultivated tea variety, Okumidori is a rarer cultivar produced in more limited quantities.

About the Farm
In Fujieda, Shizuoka Prefecture, this tea farm was among the first in the region to embrace organic tea cultivation.
Nearly 60 years ago, after witnessing the environmental impact of conventional farming practices, the farm chose a path of cultivating tea in harmony with nature. Today, they continue to nurture healthy soil, protect biodiversity, and practice sustainable farming for future generations.
The farm also maintains the traditional Chagusaba tea-grass farming method, which supports both tea quality and the surrounding ecosystem.
In addition to Yabukita, the farm cultivates several tea varieties, including the exceptional Okumidori used in this matcha.
